9 months old

Okay, so I am a little behind. The last couple of weeks have been a blur, but our Addison did turn 9 months old during the chaos. She is such a happy baby! Since she was born Brian and I just marvel at how different the girls are. Addie has been much more content in general. She loves to just sit and play with her toys and anything Payton does is just hilarious to her. We will have to try to get a video of her big belly laughs when Payton is being silly. Of course Payton loves to ham it up when her baby sister is laughing at her! She has gotten mobile, not crawling, but anywhere she can scoot on her bottom. She of course starting making her way around the living room when Brian was out of town for work. Payton took her first steps while Brian was out of town for work. Earlier this week I heard a weird rustling noise... she had scooted right under the Christmas tree and was in the process of gumming the tree skirt. YUCK! She was NOT happy when I saved the tree skirt and pulled her out of there. Since her tummy has started to feel better we have been trying more solids. Her favorites are cheerios (of course), crackers, pancakes, and her newest is toast. It is tough for her to pick up the "wet" foods... bananas she liked, but peaches didn't go too well! Still no teeth yet... drooling like crazy though.

Payton is afraid of Santa, and the snow. As soon as we put the Christmas tree up she will get up in the morning (lately it has been between 5:30 and 6am... still trying to figure that one out) and say "Santa isn't comning yet!" She doesn't like the thought of Santa coming into our house while she is sleeping. They have their Christmas program at school tonight, and Santa is going to be there. We will have to see how that goes. She has been singing Christmas carols for a couple of weeks. Last year the 3 year old pre-school room was the group that really got into it and sang the loudest. Hopefully Payton won't be too shy tonight! As for the snow, we had some freezing rain last weekend and it formed a hard layer over the snow. When she got out with Brian she was too light to break through that layer of ice and she slipped and fell. She didn't hurt herself, but it scared her and she hasn't wanted to go out since... They do go outside at school though... peer pressure can be a good thing!
